YURIKA SAITO

Yurika Saito is a textile/painting artist.

She was born in Tokyo, Japan and is currently working in Berlin.
She uses painting, embroidery, and natural dyeing techniques, creating works on the theme of the human heart and the beauty of life.
She began traveling and drawing pictures of landscapes and plants she encountered when she was a teenager, and eventually discovered textile art through many kinds of techniques.

She combines painting and embroidery in her work, and recently she has been working on a project with a strong interest in natural dyeing using everyday objects from daily life, such as leftovers from daily meals and plants that grow along walking paths.

She arrived at current style in 2022.

She is attracted to opposites and the world that oscillates between them.

feeling the cycle of plants

feeling the cycle of cells

the beginning is the end

life is death

chaos is simple

the past is the present

the present is the future

color is colorless

man is woman

destruction is creativity

The various opposites are completely different and the same

The grater the swing of the pendulum,

the more disturbance, beauty is born
